Tuesdays with Brandt

For non fiction, i am reading tuesdays with morrie. This book has made me start to think about things a lot lately. I figure why not have them put up on here? Nobody reads these, so i won't have to be worried about being made fun of. And and the least, i can read these later and realize how immature my thought process is.

with that said, this book has, in a way, helped me decide what i will do with my life. And if not that, it has showed me what is important. i feel like i always need something new, because life seems to offer that little to me. When i don't take advantage of the awesome things right in front of me. I should be embracing nature, and what it has to offer, instead of wasting my money or beat machines (sadly, this is not made up) which only encourages me to stay indoors more.

i need to find happiness in things that i already have, rather than buy new shit to fill that empty feeling. i need to be nicer to people in general. only say things that compliment somebody, and not hurt them. i see too many people find joy in humiliating others, myself included.

while i am a teenager, and should be enjoying life, i still need to remember that no matter what, we all die. Something morrie really stresses in his lectures is if you were to die right now, would you feel good about the impact you had on other people around you. while we should see the fun in everything, it isn't a bad idea to live every day like it may be your last.

really though, if you havn't read this book, you should check it out.
haha i'm promoting a book on a page nobody goes to. awesome.

  1. Sounds like a quality read. If I pick that up sometime soon, I'll intentionally stop by the row, and hopefully we can chit chat.
